Federal Court Orders Destruction of Kratom Supplements

The FDA does not like kratom

A Federal Court in Florida has entered a consent decree, giving the FDA the authority to destroy 207,000 units of kratom supplements and 34,000 kg of raw ingredient that it seized in May.

The FDA has a dedicated website for kratom, which warns U.S. consumers not to take kratom for any purpose. The agency had issued several import alerts since 2016 and had seized millions of dollars worth of kratom products.

Although the FDA is still evaluating the safety of kratom and kratom products, it appears that the agency has already made up its mind about them.
