Yi-Kang Hu, Ph.D.
I am a food & drug lawyer located on the West Coast of the United States. For more than 18 years I have worked with companies and entrepreneurs around the world, guiding them through the complex regulatory framework of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). I strive to provide practical and cost-effective solutions to help my clients grow, while avoiding missteps associated with FDA-regulated products.
I started my legal career at a leading international law firm, where I provided regulatory and intellectual property counseling to food, dietary supplement, biologic, medical device, and cosmetic companies in the research, development, distribution, and promotion of their products. I continue to offer regulatory services after transitioning to an independent legal consultant.
In addition to my legal and regulatory experience, I draw on my deep background knowledge of the sciences to serve my clients. Prior to entering into law, I was a research scientist and earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry & molecular biology.
I grew up in Hawaii and Taiwan and now call Oregon home. I currently serve on the Tigard City Council, and in my spare time, enjoy traveling and the outdoors.
